KILLEEN, TX, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Killeen Independent School District has approved Typesy, eReflect’s K-12 typing and keyboarding curriculum, as a vendor under RFP Number 24-29-03-041, Academic Curriculum, Assessment, and Testing Materials & Service and Instructional Supplies, through April 21, 2028. The approval gives KISD campuses the option to license Typesy ahead of upcoming testing cycles, with individual schools deciding whether and when to adopt it.
Testing environments have shifted almost entirely onto computers in recent years, which means a student’s ability to type quickly and accurately can influence assessment performance even when the underlying material isn’t the issue. That risk is part of why some districts choose to vet a keyboarding vendor formally, rather than leaving each campus to find its own solution closer to test time.
Killeen ISD’s decision to approve Typesy under a category focused specifically on curriculum, assessment, and testing materials reflects a direct link between typing proficiency and test performance, rather than treating keyboarding as a general classroom technology matter to be addressed separately.
Typesy for Killeen ISD is a K-12 typing and keyboarding curriculum delivered through guided lessons, interactive exercises, and classroom-focused activities designed to improve typing speed, accuracy, and keyboard familiarity. For schools that choose to adopt it ahead of a testing window, students can build fluency gradually rather than facing a one-time skill check right before an assessment.
Campuses that bring Typesy on can assign lessons, monitor keyboarding progress, and review performance data through built-in reporting tools designed to identify students who may benefit from additional practice before a major assessment.
“When testing moves online, typing stops being incidental and starts being part of the assessment itself, whether anyone intends it that way or not,” said Marc Slater, CEO of eReflect. “Pairing a keyboarding vendor with curriculum and assessment procurement, the way Killeen has, gives schools that want to prepare students a straightforward option.”
Designed primarily for K-12 education, Typesy is built to help students strengthen digital fluency, foundational computer skills, and broader familiarity with the technology used in modern testing environments, for schools that choose to adopt it.
While Typesy also offers homeschool and individual account options, its primary focus remains school-based learning and district-wide keyboarding instruction tied to assessment readiness. Killeen ISD campuses that opt in can implement the curriculum as part of test preparation, classroom instruction, or intervention support depending on the needs of each school.
Because the RFP falls under academic curriculum and assessment rather than general technology procurement, Killeen ISD campuses that adopt Typesy can align keyboarding instruction directly with their own testing calendar, once a school decides to bring the program on.
