Five-page cover story showcases the Orlando interior design firm’s bold, art-inspired transformation of a midcentury home.
ORLANDO, FL, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Blue Daze Designs, a premier interior design firm serving Central Florida, is featured on the cover of Interior Appeal magazine’s Fall 2026 edition, with an accompanying story highlighting the firm’s colorful, highly personalized approach to residential interior design.
Titled “ARTcentric,” the article spotlights a midcentury home designed by Blue Daze Founder and Principal Designer Cathy Sands. Built around the homeowner’s extensive art collection and evolving personal style, the project combines bold color, eclectic furnishings, custom fabrics and distinctive architectural details to create spaces that feel both sophisticated and deeply personal.
“This project represents so much of what we love about design — we’re thrilled that Interior Appeal selected it as it’s cover story,” says Sands. “The home is colorful, artistic and completely individual to the people who live there. Our goal was to help the client become more confident in expressing his personality and surrounding himself with things that bring him joy.”
The home’s design evolved over several years, beginning with a wallpapered dining room ceiling and expanding into a broader transformation. Among its distinctive elements are a custom coral front door with porthole windows, coral and aqua kitchen cabinetry, European wood flooring, vibrant artwork, custom textiles and richly layered living spaces. Greens, coral and deep blue provide a visual thread that helps unify the home’s many colors and artistic elements.
The project also reflects a philosophy Sands emphasizes in the Interior Appeal feature: creating homes for the people who live in them rather than designing primarily around trends. The article describes how the homeowner became increasingly willing to make bolder choices as the project progressed, allowing his personality and art collection to guide the design.
“A home should make you happy when you walk through the door,” Sands adds. “The most successful interiors aren’t necessarily the ones that follow the latest home fashion trends. They’re the ones that feel authentic to the client. In this home, the design and art collection evolved together to create something joyful, unexpected and deeply personal.”
The cover story follows a series of recent honors for Blue Daze Designs in the Central Florida market, including being named Best Local Interior Design Firm in Orlando Weekly’s Best of Orlando 2025 awards. The firm was also named a top interior design firm in Orlando Magazine’s Best of ORL 2026 reader-choice awards.
