Beyond MetaTrader 5’s native AI, ProreX exposes its own screener, Smart Score, trade ideas and market data to AI agents over the Model Context Protocol – with AI trading set to manual confirmation by default

NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / September 11, 2026 / ProreX Limited, the Mauritius-based multi-asset broker, today announced that its clients can now put an AI agent to work across MetaTrader 5 (MT5) – and, uniquely, connect that same agent to ProreX’s own analysis tools through the ProreX MCP server. Following MetaTrader 5’s Build 6060 update, which introduced native Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agentic AI, ProreX is going a step further than the platform default: clients can pair MT5’s built-in AI with ProreX’s proprietary research so a single agent reasons with ProreX’s tools, not just generic market data – while every trade stays under the client’s control.

By default, ProreX configures AI-initiated trading to require manual confirmation, so nothing reaches the market without the client’s approval.

The launch comes as agentic AI gains momentum across Southeast Asia – one of the world’s fastest-growing AI markets, with regional adoption accelerating in hubs such as Singapore and Malaysia (Singapore EDB, AI in Southeast Asia, 2026). ProreX is bringing these capabilities to its MetaTrader 5 clients as that shift reaches retail trading.

What agentic trading on MT5 means

Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets applications communicate with AI agents. Unlike a traditional chatbot, an AI agent can independently work through a complex task by breaking it into a sequence of actions and using the tools of the applications it’s connected to. With MCP now built into MetaTrader 5, the platform becomes a live source of market data and trading functionality that AI agents can work with directly – reading market information, analysing charts, reviewing the trading environment and, where permitted, executing operations.

For ProreX clients, that removes the copy-paste gap between “ask the AI” and “act on it.” Two paths are available:

  • MetaTrader 5’s built-in AI Assistant, available in both the terminal and MetaEditor. By default it runs on the MQL5.community provider (free MQL5 Lite plan), and clients can instead use their own API keys for providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek or Ollama.
  • External MCP-compatible agents – including OpenAI Codex, Claude Code and other MCP-compatible solutions – connected to the client’s MetaTrader 5 environment through the platform’s built-in MCP server.

More than the platform: ProreX’s own tools, connected over MCP

Native AI in MetaTrader 5 is available to the clients of every MT5 broker – it gives an agent the market and the mechanics. What sets ProreX apart is that ProreX now exposes its own analysis tools to that same AI, through the ProreX MCP server.

Because the Model Context Protocol lets an AI agent connect to more than one server at once, a ProreX client can add the ProreX MCP endpoint alongside MetaTrader 5’s built-in one – using “Add new MCP server” in the terminal’s MCP settings. From that point, a single agent can combine ProreX’s proprietary research with MT5’s live data and execution in one continuous workflow.

Through the ProreX MCP layer, the agent can call ProreX’s:

  • Screener and Smart Score – filter the market and rank instruments on ProreX’s own scoring.
  • Trade ideas and signals – surface ProreX’s current setups together with the rationale behind them.
  • Market news and economic calendar – pull the headlines and high-impact events relevant to the client’s instruments.

In practice, that turns a single instruction into a full research-to-proposal chain: “Screen the majors with ProreX Smart Score, cross-check today’s economic calendar for high-impact events, pull any ProreX trade ideas on the top three, then show me the live MT5 chart and propose an entry for my approval.” One request – ProreX’s research and MetaTrader 5’s data and execution working together – with the trade still waiting on the client’s manual confirmation.

This is the part clients can’t get from the platform alone: an AI agent that doesn’t just trade on generic data, but reasons with ProreX’s own tools.

On the roadmap: what’s next for the ProreX MCP

ProreX is actively expanding the ProreX MCP toolset. The following capabilities are in development – not yet available, and subject to change – and are shared here to give clients a view of where the platform is heading:

  • Backtesting and strategy validation – let the agent pressure-test an idea against historical data before any capital is risked, so proposals arrive backed by evidence rather than conviction alone.
  • Trade journal and behavioural diagnostics – surface a client’s own recurring patterns, such as overtrading or cutting winners early, so the agent can flag them before a trade. The aim is an AI that reinforces discipline, not one that simply trades faster.
  • Deeper, mandate-governed automation – broader hands-off workflows for clients who want them, always inside client-set limits and ProreX’s default safeguards.

ProreX will confirm availability as each capability is released. Clients can register interest and follow the rollout at www.prorex.asia.

What clients can ask their AI to do

Running on MT5, the agent works against the same institutional infrastructure ProreX clients already use – real-time pricing, Expert Advisors, FIX API connectivity and PAMM/MAM. Typical requests include:

  • Analyse the market – “Analyse the current EURUSD situation on the H1 timeframe. Identify the trend, the nearest support and resistance levels, and explain what’s happening in the market.”
  • Review open risk – “Analyse my open positions. Which trades currently carry the highest risk, and why?”
  • Audit performance – “Check my trading history for the last three months. Identify my most profitable trades and which positions caused losses.”
  • Scan with ProreX’s tools – “Screen Market Watch with ProreX Smart Score and flag the strongest setups that also have a ProreX trade idea today.”
  • Build and test strategies – in MetaEditor, generate, debug, optimise and convert MQL5 Expert Advisors and indicators from a natural-language brief.

Client control by design: the AI stays on a leash

ProreX has configured the rollout around a simple principle drawn from the wider industry standard for responsible agentic trading: the client, not the algorithm, is accountable for every trade. MetaTrader 5 provides native AI controls that make this real, and ProreX applies them conservatively by default.

Trading permission is a client setting. In MetaTrader 5’s AI Assistant settings, the AI’s trading permission is one of three explicit modes:

  • Disabled – the AI cannot place trades at all. Pure analysis and research.
  • Manual confirmation – the AI can prepare an order, but the client must approve it before it is sent. This is ProreX’s default.
  • Enabled – the AI can place trades directly, for clients who explicitly opt in.

Restricted network and system access. By default the AI’s web access is limited to GET requests only, and “dangerous shell operations” (PowerShell, Python and similar) remain switched off. AI-initiated trading, network access and command-line access are governed separately, so clients can tighten each independently.

Connection under the client’s control. External AI agents reach the account only through MetaTrader 5’s built-in MCP server, which the client enables and authenticates with a generated API key that can be regenerated or revoked at any time. The ProreX MCP server connects the same way. Every AI action runs through the platform’s standard logging, giving clients a clear record of what was proposed, approved and executed.

For clients who want an additional hardening layer when connecting an external agent, MetaTrader 5’s account access levels can further limit a session – for example, signing a research agent in with an Investor (read-only) password so it can analyse but cannot trade or move funds. This is optional and sits on top of the AI Assistant controls above.

“MetaTrader 5’s native AI is a genuine shift – but on its own, every MT5 broker’s clients get the same thing,” said Theodore Presley, Head of Product, ProreX Limited. “Our difference is the ProreX MCP: we plug our own screener, Smart Score, trade ideas and market data straight into the client’s AI agent, so it reasons with our research and then acts on MetaTrader 5. And we default to manual confirmation – the agent proposes, the client decides. The account, and the decision, stay theirs.”

Risk disclosure

Trading foreign exchange, CFDs and other leveraged margin products carries a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all invested capital. Agentic trading carries additional risks: AI agents can misinterpret instructions, act on incomplete or outdated information, and behave in unexpected ways, and AI-driven strategies may perform poorly in certain market conditions. AI-generated responses and ProreX’s tools, signals and scores are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute investment advice or a recommendation by ProreX Limited; clients should use them as one analytical input and make trading decisions based on their own judgement. Clients are solely responsible for reviewing account activity and for all trades placed in their accounts, whether entered manually or by an AI agent, and should ensure they understand these risks and seek independent advice where appropriate.

Frequently asked questions:

Does ProreX Limited support agentic trading and MCP on MetaTrader 5? Yes. Following MetaTrader 5 Build 6060, eligible ProreX Limited clients can use MetaTrader 5’s native AI Assistant and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to analyse markets and place orders, and can connect the ProreX MCP server to bring ProreX’s own screener, Smart Score, trade ideas and market data to their AI agent.

What is the ProreX MCP? The ProreX MCP is ProreX Limited’s own MCP server. It exposes ProreX’s analysis tools – screener and Smart Score, trade ideas and signals, and market news and economic calendar – to any MCP-compatible AI agent. Clients add it alongside MetaTrader 5’s built-in MCP server, so a single agent can use ProreX’s research and MT5’s market data and execution together.

Can an AI agent place trades on my account automatically? Only if you allow it. ProreX sets AI trading to “manual confirmation” by default, meaning the agent proposes an order and you approve it before it is sent. You can also disable AI trading entirely, or enable direct trading if you explicitly opt in.

Which AI models can I use with ProreX on MetaTrader 5? MetaTrader 5’s built-in AI Assistant defaults to the MQL5.community provider (free MQL5 Lite plan), and you can use your own API keys for providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek or Ollama. External MCP-compatible agents such as OpenAI Codex and Claude Code can also connect.

Where is ProreX’s agentic trading available? MetaTrader 5’s AI Assistant, MCP features and the ProreX MCP server are available to eligible ProreX Limited clients running the latest MetaTrader 5 build, subject to the terms, availability and eligibility that apply in each client’s jurisdiction.

How do I stop or limit the AI? You stay in control. Set AI trading to disabled or manual confirmation, restrict the AI’s web access, keep dangerous shell operations switched off, and regenerate or revoke the MCP API key at any time.
