AVENTURA, FL / ACCESS Newswire / September 11, 2026 / Novoxel® Ltd., developer of Tixel, today announced that Tixel i, its proprietary device for the treatment of dry eye disease, has received CE certification under EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certificate 725869, clearing the way for the device to be marketed and sold across the European Union.
The certification allows eye care practitioners throughout Europe to offer the Tixel for Dry Eye procedure, a non-invasive, in-office treatment that uses Tixel’s proprietary TMA® (Thermo-Mechanical Action) technology to address the underlying causes of evaporative dry eye disease. The procedure is designed to be fast and well-tolerated with little to no downtime for patients, yielding long-lasting results.
“CE certification for Tixel i is a defining step in our mission to bring TMA® technology to more patients living with dry eye disease. Since launching in the US, we’ve seen top dry eye experts embrace the technology, updating their protocols and adding Tixel, often in place of modalities like IPL. Europe has always been a strategic priority for us, and this milestone lets us bring that same momentum to eye care practitioners and their patients across the region.”
Yoni Shavit, CEO, Novoxel® Ltd.
“Following my initial study, I developed the protocol for Tixel dry eye treatment. Subsequent multicenter trials confirmed significant improvements in both objective parameters and patient-reported symptoms, with no adverse events reported.
In the pivotal trial, symptoms were reduced by approximately 50% at six months. Tixel acts directly on the meibomian glands of both lids, with treatment taking approximately two minutes.
With MDR certification, thermo-mechanical treatment can now be integrated into routine clinical management of dry eye disease.”
