Muse by Psalmlog, a free app that connects your Spotify listening to Scripture, won Gloo and YouVersion’s $10,000 New Frontiers Prize over 75 projects.
PHOENIX, AZ, UNITED STATES, August 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Muse by Psalmlog, a free web app that reads a user’s Spotify listening and surfaces where Scripture speaks to the themes underneath their music, has won the $10,000 New Frontiers Prize in the Gloo + YouVersion Summer Challenge. The award was announced by Gloo, the leading technology platform for the faith ecosystem, and YouVersion, maker of the Bible App used by hundreds of millions worldwide.
The challenge drew 365 entrants and 75 submitted projects, asking developers to bring Scripture into digital spaces where it rarely appears natively – gaming, social platforms, creator tools, and wearables. Gaming was the largest category at more than 21 percent of submissions. Muse took the top prize with a different approach: the music people already can’t stop playing.
Muse analyzes a user’s recent Spotify listening (or any single pasted song), identifies the emotional and thematic threads running through it, and pairs those themes with Scripture supplied by the YouVersion Platform API. It requires no account, makes no diagnosis, and never generates Bible text with AI – the model proposes only a verse reference, and YouVersion supplies the actual Scripture. Users can share the results as “Muse Cards,” Wrapped-style images built from their own listening.
In its announcement, Gloo described Muse as “meeting people exactly where they are, using a habit they already have rather than asking them to form a new one.”
“That sentence is the entire thesis behind Psalmlog,” said Preston Zeller, founder of Psalmlog, the spiritual journaling app behind Muse. “People don’t need another content feed telling them how to feel. Your heavy-rotation playlist already knows what you’re wrestling with – and Scripture has been speaking to those same themes for thousands of years. Muse just makes the introduction. The fact that a music app beat a field dominated by gaming and social projects says something about how hungry people are for that kind of friendly invitation.”
Zeller, a veteran growth and product executive, built Muse solo in under a month using Gloo AI Studio and the YouVersion Platform API. A deliberate design constraint shaped the app: AI is never trusted to write Scripture. “In an era when people are rightly skeptical of AI and faith mixing, the guardrail matters as much as the feature,” Zeller said. “The Bible text in Muse always comes from YouVersion, word for word. The AI’s job is discernment about themes – not authorship of the text.”
Muse extends the mission of Psalmlog, a spiritual journaling app that helps people move from hearing Scripture to living it through AI-guided reflection on their real, everyday lives. Muse is free and requires no signup at muse.psalmlog.com.
