West Palm Beach Fort Pierce, FL, October 9, 2026 — Boynton Beach Community High School is set to introduce the Palm Beach County School District’s inaugural Sports Academy, aiming to equip students with a broad spectrum of career skills related to the sports industry. This academy distinguishes itself by offering pathways that extend beyond traditional athletic performance, encompassing fields such as culinary arts, hospitality management, e-sports, broadcasting, and medical science.

The initiative, designated as the sole choice Sports Academy within the school district, is designed to prepare students for diverse roles within the ever-evolving sports landscape. The curriculum will focus on providing practical experience and foundational knowledge in non-athletic disciplines that are integral to the sports world. Students will have the opportunity to explore career tracks that include the business of sports, media coverage, event management, and health sciences related to athletic well-being.

Facility upgrades are currently underway to support the academy’s specialized programs. While specific details regarding the scope of these upgrades or the timeline for their completion were not immediately available, the school is preparing the campus to accommodate the new academic offerings.

Applications for the Sports Academy are now open for students seeking admission for the Fall 2027 academic year. This extended application window allows prospective students and their families ample time to learn about the program and prepare their submissions. Further information regarding the application process and specific program details is expected to be released as the launch date approaches.
